This year, the Eat to the Beat team is taking a closer look at what makes the organization behind the event so special. Over the last 18 years, Eat to the Beat has raised $3.3 million for the cause, and everyone involved can see the community of support that has grown around it.

The Facts About the Support We Fund

The organization is a national not-for-profit that provides free support and information to anyone affected by breast cancer, including those at high risk.

Thousands of people have been helped over the years. Patients, family members, friends and caregivers. Personalized service is provided by a highly informed and compassionate peer support team, each of whom has had breast cancer and understands the many challenges that come with the disease.

 

When You Reach Out, You Can

Connect with someone who has had breast cancer or is at high risk, and can understand your concerns.

Access credible information specific to your diagnosis and situation.

Locate resources in your community such as support groups, wigs, prostheses, and financial help.

Talk through how to support a loved one.

 

Who Calls

People concerned about their risk of developing breast cancer.

People diagnosed with breast cancer or a BRCA gene mutation.

Family, friends and caregivers of someone diagnosed with breast cancer or a BRCA gene mutation.

 

Who Will I Talk To

When you call, you will speak with someone who has had a diagnosis and can relate to your concerns. The peer support team is made up of staff and volunteers who are there to listen, provide support and answer a wide range of questions.

 

Are Services Provided in Other Languages

Yes. If you prefer to speak in a language other than English, a translator will be arranged to help with the conversation.

 

How Often Can I Get in Touch

As often as you like, at any point in your journey, from pre-diagnosis to life after treatment.

 

Is There a Cost

All services are free of charge.
