Our Event

Eat to the Beat is a night built around good food and a good cause. Sixty female chefs from across Ontario set up stations around Roy Thomson Hall, guests move through the room at their own pace, and every plate and every pour goes toward breast cancer support services for people in our community.

Over 500 women in Canada hear the words breast cancer every week. For the person hearing it, and for the family and friends standing beside them, that moment changes everything. The funds raised on this one night help make sure no one has to walk through it alone.

The evening is more than the food. There is a silent auction, a raffle, live music, and a few traditions that longtime guests look forward to every year. Here is a quick look at what to expect.

 

Silent Auction

Bidding gets competitive once the auction opens, and that is half the fun. Packages range from weekend getaways and dining experiences to wellness treats and one-of-a-kind items donated by our supporters.

Raffle

Raffle tickets are sold throughout the evening and the draw happens on site before the night wraps up. Prizes change from year to year and we will share the details as the event gets closer.

Keep an eye on this page, and pick up your tickets early if you can. They tend to go quickly once the room fills up.

 

Food and Drink

Sixty chef stations, plus wine, beer, spirits, and a solid selection of non-alcoholic options from some of the finest purveyors in the city. Everything is included with your ticket, so try as much as you like.

Entertainment

Live music runs through the evening, setting the tone for the room without ever getting in the way of a good conversation. Guests drift between stations, catch up with old friends, and let the night carry them along at its own pace.

 

Corsets

They are fun, they are colourful, and they have become one of the most-loved traditions at Eat to the Beat. Our Corset Ladies move through the event in handcrafted designs, many of them created by Canadian designers and often by survivors themselves. Each corset tells a story, and together they bring a spirit of life and humour to a night that is about facing something serious with strength.
