Eat to the Beat is a night of great food, great drinks, and a room full of people who came out to support a cause that matters. Sixty female chefs, one evening, and a whole lot of heart.
Every October, Roy Thomson Hall opens its doors and turns into a tasting room like no other. Guests move from station to station, sampling savoury and sweet dishes made just for the night, along with wine, beer, spirits and non-alcoholic options from some of the finest purveyors in Ontario. Live music plays through the evening, the silent auction is open for bidding, and the Corset Ladies make their rounds with raffle tickets and a lot of personality.
What makes the night special is not just the food. It is the reason behind it. Every ticket sold, every bid placed, every raffle ticket bought helps provide breast cancer information, support services and programs for people in our community. Over 500 women in Canada hear the words breast cancer every week, and the funds raised at this one event help make sure no one has to face that moment alone.
What to Expect on the Night
Sixty chef stations with bite-sized dishes, made to be eaten standing up while you talk to friends.
A full beverage program, including wine, beer, spirits and non-alcoholic options.
Live music running through the evening, setting the tone without ever getting in the way.
A silent auction with packages ranging from weekend getaways to one-of-a-kind experiences.
A raffle draw with prizes announced closer to the event.
The Corset Ladies, a tradition that guests look forward to every year.
Why People Come Back
Some guests have been coming for years. Others find out about it through a friend and end up making it an annual tradition. The food is a big part of it, and so is the room. There is something about standing in a hall full of people who all showed up for the same reason that makes the night feel different from any other event in the city.
If you have never been, this is a good year to change that. If you have been before, you already know why you keep coming back.
